The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn the shelling carried out for the second time by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) that operates under the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, targeting the Adri border crossing using drones.
The Adri crossing is one of the vital corridors linking Sudan and the Republic of Chad and serves as a major humanitarian lifeline for the delivery of humanitarian assistance and commercial supplies to civilians affected by the war. It has become clear that today’s attack, carried out on Sunday, aims to disrupt the flow of humanitarian aid and obstruct relief efforts, thereby exacerbating civilian suffering and deepening the humanitarian crisis in conflict-affected areas.
The repeated targeting of this humanitarian facility constitutes a direct threat to the operations of humanitarian organizations, endangers the lives of aid workers and civilians, and represents a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and all international norms and conventions that protect civil facilities and relief corridors.
In light of this dangerous escalation, our forces call upon international and regional organizations, foremost among them the United Nations and the United Nations Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities by clearly condemning this criminal conduct and taking urgent and effective measures to stop these attacks, ensure that those responsible are held accountable, and don't evade justice.
The continuous international silence in the face of these grave violations encourages the aggressors to persist in committing further crimes against innocent civilians and humanitarian infrastructure, and undermines all efforts to protect civilians and alleviate their suffering.
Our forces renew their strong condemnation of this criminal attack and express deep astonishment at the absence of a firm, deterrent international stance, at a time when the SAF that operates under the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood continues to commit violations without accountability.
