Over the past few days, we have observed, in a number of areas desperate attempts by elements and affiliates of the terrorist Islamic Movement to incite tribal tensions and unrest with the aim of undermining stability, threatening citizens' security, and disrupting public facilities and services, particularly during the Sudanese Secondary School Certificate Examinations.
During this period, our security agencies succeeded in dismantling and apprehending a number of cells affiliated with remnants of the Islamic Movement's army, as well as individuals linked to the so-called National Security and Intelligence Service and Military Intelligence. These cells were engaged in inciting violence and conflict among tribal communities, burning markets, and sabotaging public services through direct coordination and financial support from fugitive leaders of the Islamic Movement, who have orchestrated and fueled tribal conflicts and wars for many years.
The recent periods have witnessed significant improvements in living conditions, the return of large numbers of displaced persons to their towns and villages, the restoration of security, and the commencement of the agricultural season. However, as usual, the Islamic Movement remains unwilling to see this country to achieve stability or its people enjoy peace and security.
We warn all those who seek to undermine the security and stability of citizens that our forces and various security agencies will act decisively to impose the rule of law and uphold the authority of the State. Any attempts to destabilize security will be met with the necessary measures.
We assure our people that a comprehensive plan has been put in place to confront any attempts by hostile elements to spread chaos and destabilize stability. Our forces remain committed to protect citizens' security and stability, through dismantling this criminal network, that threaten peace and public order, while working toward the vision of a new Sudan founded on freedom, justice, and equality.
