Founding Forces shoot down an “Akıncı” drone in the New Fung Region

Today, Saturday, the Air Defence Forces of the Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) successfully shot down a Turkish-made “Akıncı” drone over the New Fung region as it attempted to target civilians. The incident comes amid a series of aerial attacks carried out by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), operating under the command of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, committing grave violations. The latest of these attacks involved the targeting and shelling of hospitals and public markets in the areas of “Dumaya Market” in South Darfur and “Al-Na’am Market” in Abyei region.

Our forces reaffirm their high level of readiness to counter these aerial attacks and their capability to protect civilians against the repeated attacks carried out by the Muslim Brotherhood’s army through near-daily drone strikes targeting residential areas, public facilities, infrastructure and hospitals, in flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian norms.

We once again call upon the international community, regional organisations and human rights bodies to condemn these heinous crimes and take immediate action to put an end to the repeated attacks on populated areas.

We affirm that our forces will remain steadfast in their commitment to monitor and maintain the highest level of vigilance on the ground to protect towns and villages and safeguard the lives of citizens. We further reiterate that we will not tolerate any threat to national security or the lives of innocent people.
