RSF condemns the SAF's use of chemical weapons against innocent civilians in Shangili Tubai, North Darfur

MEDIA STATEMENT
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn the use of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and their allied Islamic Terrorist Movement chemical weapons in civilian areas and displaced persons camps in Shangili Tobai area, south of El Fasher in North Darfur State. This heinous act constitutes a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms, and our forces classify it as a brutal attack on human rights and the most fundamental principles of humanity.

Our forces highlight the continued use of internationally prohibited weapons by the SAF and their allied Islamic Movement. These crimes have been documented in American reports since last January, based on information provided by four senior U.S. officials who confirmed that the "Sudanese army" has repeatedly used chemical weapons in various areas.

The use of internationally banned weapons constitutes a grave act of genocide and a crime against humanity. It endangers the lives of innocent civilians and inflicts long-term physical and psychological suffering on individuals and communities. It also demonstrates a deliberate disregard for the international treaties and conventions, specifically , the Chemical Weapons Convention.

We urge the international community to take a decisive stance against these heinous crimes and protect the internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees in Darfur. We call for an urgent investigation to hold those responsible accountable and ensure the protection of civilians from such grave crimes.

We affirm that our forces will not remain silent in the face of these crimes. We will continue to defend human rights and safeguard the lives of our citizens. This mission can only be fully achieved by liberating the country from the grip of the terrorist gang and establish a new Sudanese state founded on the rule of law, ensures the protection of its people rather than exterminates them.
