The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has followed with deep regret the circulation of video footage on social media platforms showing piled-up corpses in a degrading manner that violates human dignity and is entirely inconsistent with the principles and values upheld by our forces.
The RSF affirms that the individuals appearing in these videos are not affiliated with our forces in any way whatsoever. Furthermore, we wish to point out that the Al-Muhandisin area, where these unfortunate incidents occurred, is an area of operational overlap between the RSF and the militias and battalions loyal to Al-Burhan, known for their extensive record of human rights violations, including the slaughter of civilians and the extrajudicial execution of detainees.
The RSF, stemming from their unwavering commitment to the rules of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, categorically rejects any practices that violate human dignity or breach the fundamental principles governing the conduct of hostilities.
Keen to uphold the laws of war and principles of justice, the RSF calls upon individuals, international organizations, and media outlets to exercise caution and verify facts carefully before attributing violations and atrocities to the RSF. This is in adherence to the legal and ethical principles that demand no party be held responsible without conclusive evidence based on impartial and independent investigations.
Despite the complex circumstances facing our country, the RSF remains fully committed to humanitarian principles and the rules of international humanitarian law, steadfast in defending human dignity and the right to life, striving with all their might to end the suffering of our people, and determined to move forward toward building a Sudan characterized by justice, peace, and freedom.
