“On the Success of the UN Delegation’s Visit to El Fasher and the readiness of our forces to secure and facilitate Humanitarian Work”

TASIS Forces announce their full readiness to cooperate with the United Nations and all international organizations operating in the humanitarian field, to facilitate their tasks and enables them to carry out their humanitarian roles in the Darfur and Kordofan regions, and deliver aid to those in need efficiently and safely.

This announcement coincides with the successful field visit conducted by a high-level delegation from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) to the city of El Fasher. During the visit, the delegation assessed the conditions of displaced persons and their humanitarian needs, reviewed the level of services provided to them, and listened to direct testimonies from displaced persons inside shelters.

The visit included a number of displacement sites, UN premises, and vital facilities in El Fasher, including:
Zein Al-Abidin Displacement Center – Sheikh Ahmed Hanafi Center – Saudi Hospital – World Health Organization Office – UNICEF Office – World Food Programme Office – UN High Commissioner for Refugees Office – Amina bint Wahab Center – El Fasher Central Market.

Our forces affirm that the success of this visit was reflected in the high level of security provided to UN staff before, during, and after the visit, until its completion and the safe arrival of the delegation in Tawila locality. This demonstrates the readiness of our forces and their high capacity to provide a safe and reliable environment that enables international organizations to carry out their missions without obstacles.

TASIS Forces reiterate their full commitment to continuous coordination and to facilitate the movement of humanitarian organizations, and to work in a spirit of responsibility and partnership to ensure the smooth flow of aid and its delivery to those who deserve it, in support of humanitarian and relief efforts in Sudan.
