MEIDA STATEMENT
The death toll from the treacherous warplane massacres in the Tura relll area of North Darfur has exceeded 400 dead, with hundreds more wounded, according to a preliminary count of the genocidal act that targeted civilians on Monday at in the areas market place. The victims’ bodies were totally burned in barbaric scenes, no less horrific than the most heinous crimes of ethnic cleansing in the world.
Under the directives issued by the criminal Al-Burhan and the leaders of the terrorist organization, the warplanes of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) carried out a series of raids that completely obliterated the market place of the area. The brutal bombardment also targeted several nearby houses, causing widespread destruction, with material losses still being assessed.
Residents of neighboring areas and villages west of Mellit rushed to offer the help but ended up in gathering the scattered remains of the victims, as there were no survivals. Mass funerals and burials were held for several bodies in communal graves, while search operations continue for dozens of missing persons.
The Rapid Support Forces (SAF) strongly condemn the brutal crimes and massacres committed against the innocent civilians, in blatant violation of all international conventions, divine laws, and fundamental human values.
The genocide and crimes against humanity happening in Sudan now are a stain on the international community, which has failed to restrain the terrorist killers, the new ISIS of Sudan and to put an end to these brutal atrocities aiming at exterminating the Sudanese people and violating the fundamental human rights.
These heinous crimes constitute grave violation of the principles of justice, freedom, and human dignity, exposing a barbaric reality that defies all norms and laws. Our forces call upon the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities and to take immediate and decisive action to hold the perpetrators accountable and bring them to international justice without delay.
We also call on human rights and humanitarian organizations worldwide to intensify their efforts in exposing these crimes and to exert maximum pressure on the relevant authorities to put an end to these atrocities, ensure justice for the victims, and hold the perpetrators accountable.
Silence and failure to act in the face of these massacres amount to complicity in the ongoing cycle of killing and destruction. We therefore warn that allowing these crimes to continue without accountability will not only deepen the suffering of the people but also undermine international peace and security.
In conclusion, our forces reaffirm their firm stance in rejecting all forms of violence and genocide. We call on the world to take urgent action to end these tragedies, achieve justice, and provide remedy for the victims.
Our forces reaffirm that they will not stand tied hands rather they will continue their mission until the liberation of the national decision-making, the dismantling of the racist regime and the rebuilding of Sudan on new foundations based on democracy and good governance.
