MEDIA STATEMENT
In line with its national and regional responsibilities, and stemming from its humanitarian commitment, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announces its full readiness to utilize its control over the border Triangle Area in a positive manner—by opening the crossing to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Darfur and Kordofan, who have been deprived of such aid as a result of the Islamic Movement’s army using food as a means to punish civilians in those areas.
The RSF affirms that it is placing all its resources at the disposal of humanitarian aid organizations, to secure relief convoys and ensure their safe and efficient delivery to those in need.
Furthermore, the RSF affirms its intention to strengthen efforts to combat transnational organized crime, re-establish the rule of law, and secure the crossing—an area long exploited by mercenary groups in collaboration with drug and arms trafficking networks and cross-border criminal organizations, posing a threat to regional and international security. In this context, we announce the deployment of forces to protect and secure the borders in coordination with neighboring countries.
The significance of the Triangle Area lies not only in its geographic location as a point of convergence, but also in its role as an economic and strategic hub that can promote regional cooperation in the fields of trade, development, and stability.
This field achievement marks a major turning point. The control of this vital area opens the door to effective cooperation with neighboring countries in combating terrorism, securing borders, and promoting joint stability, as well as combating human trafficking and illegal migration—thereby supporting the security and interests of the region’s peoples.
The Rapid Support Forces renews its commitment to protecting civilians, confronting all forms of chaos, extortion, and organized crime, and at the same time calls on regional and international actors to support this step, which contributes to strengthening security and stability in the region.
