The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have established full control over the Karnoi area in North Darfur State following swift and decisive battles targeting the remnants of militias allied with elements of the Islamic Movement (the Muslim Brotherhood) in Sudan, which had recently been using the area as a base to threaten local security and stability.
Today, Monday, our forces successfully secured full control of the area as part of their ongoing efforts to protect civilian communities and put an end to the violations committed by these militias against the population. The RSF valiant soldiers succeeded in clearing the area and forcing the remaining elements to withdraw after suffering heavy losses, restoring full control over Karnoi and its surrounding areas.
The RSF affirms that this step represents significant progress in the ongoing operations aimed at restoring security and stability in North Darfur State and creating safe conditions for the return of normal life for the population after a period of tension and instability.
In this context, our forces reassure all citizens in the Karnoi area and neighbouring regions that their safety and security remain a top priority. Our personnel are operating in accordance with clear commitments to protect civilians, safeguard their property, and prevent any abuses or violations.
The RSF also calls on the residents of the region to cooperate with the forces and adhere to the temporary security measures aimed at restoring stability and pursuing the outlaws who have sought to undermine the region’s security.
Our forces reaffirm their commitment to continue efforts to restore security and stability across the Darfur region, protect civilians, and uphold the rule of law, paving the way for the return of normal life and strengthening the foundations of peace and stability in the country.
