MEDIA STATEMENT

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) achieved a major victory today over the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its extremist backers linked to the former regime. We have taken full control of the 61st SAF Brigade in Kass, South Darfur.

The RSF has captured 13 combat vehicles, 70 cannons, the colonel in charge of the brigade, and 30 other SAF personnel.

We praise our courageous fighters for our most recent battlefield success, as we fight to prevent the former regime from restoring its oppressive rule in Sudan.

We are now more determined than ever before to put an end to the former regime that hijacked the state apparatus in our country — and to halt, once and for all, the control of the beneficiaries of the post-colonial state who seek to preserve their historical stronghold over Sudan.
