MEDIA STATEMENT

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and its allies from the former regime of military dictator Omar al-Bashir have again broken their pledge to uphold the ceasefire, launching air raids on strategic infrastructure. This blatant violation of the Jeddah agreement resulted in the complete destruction of a crucial currency printing plant.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) will hold the SAF and its coconspirators from the former regime accountable for their actions, which clearly display their hostility toward the innocent people of Sudan. Despite our continuing respect for the ceasefire agreement, the SAF and its cronies from the al-Bashir regime show no such commitment.

We urge the international community to denounce these unlawful actions by the SAF. It has become increasingly clear that the RSF is the sole defender of the recently signed ceasefire agreement.
