The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has organized a reconciliation conference for signing a peace deal between the Rizigat and Falata tribes under the motto, “And Hold Firmly to the Rope of Allah Together and Do Not Become Divided.”
RSF Second Commander, General Abd El-Rahim Hamdan Dagalo attended the conference, together with Darfur Region Governor Minni Arko Minnawi, the governor of North Darfur State, members of the State Security Committee, tribal chiefs and mayors.
While addressing participants, Minnawi stressed the importance of imposing the authority of the state and rule of law, as well as the need for peaceful coexistence in local communities.
He also praised the efforts of Transitional Sovereignty Council Vice President, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo to achieve peace and stability in Sudan.
In turn, El-Rahim praised the RSF officers who initiated the reconciliation process and said the signing of a reconciliation agreement will put an end to the conflict between the tribes.
He also noted that Sudan is experiencing a period of transition. He underscored that it is “our duty to protect Sudan, its people, and their personal property.” He added that disputes do not exist between the regular forces and the Armed Struggle Movements. “They are one fist,” he said.
Meanwhile, South Darfur Governor Hamid El-Tigani Hanon congratulated the tribes on achieving reconciliation and expressed his thanks to Dagalo for paying close attention to the issue of tribal reconciliation across Sudan.
The conference was held over three days in the Kashlingo region.
The final reconciliation agreement was signed in Nyala.
