On Monday, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), in unholy alliance with militias linked to the terrorist Islamic Movement, escalated their genocidal campaign against the innocent people of Sudan. With calculated malice, the SAF unleashed a barrage of airstrikes against defenseless civilians, striking the heart of daily life in Kabkabiya market in North Darfur and the residential city of Um Rawaba in North Kordofan.
This calculated and savage assault left more than 30 civilians dead and nearly 50 others wounded. These victims — men, women, and children — were going about their lives, unsuspecting and unarmed, when they were slaughtered in cold blood. The criminal regime of Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, with its network of warlords, jihadists, and oppressive actors from the former regime, has once again demonstrated its total disregard for human life, targeting civilian populations in an orchestrated campaign of terror. This is not a military operation; it is a deliberate and unrelenting effort to annihilate whole communities, to sow fear, and to erase the very essence of Sudanese identity.
In Um Rawaba, the airstrikes were nothing short of barbaric. SAF warplanes dropped barrel bombs with deadly precision on civilian neighborhoods, reducing homes to rubble and leaving a trail of death in their wake. Children and women were slaughtered without mercy as their homes were shattered. These are not isolated incidents — they are part of an ongoing, systematic campaign of extermination, perpetrated under the guise of military operations.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) stands in absolute condemnation of these atrocities. The targeting of civilian areas — places where there is no military presence — by a regime intent on mass extermination is an act of terror, not war. These airstrikes are calculated to punish entire communities, falsely accused of supporting the RSF, and to stoke a cycle of violence that will only deepen this crisis and lead to even greater suffering.
We have irrefutable evidence linking foreign actors to the genocidal factions within the Islamic Movement, which are working in tandem to fuel this violence and further destabilize Sudan. These foreign powers, complicit in the horrors unfolding before us, seek not only to exploit Sudan’s suffering but to manipulate the nation’s future for their own dark purposes. Their support for the genocidal regime emboldens those who seek to continue this carnage.
At this critical juncture, we call on every Sudanese — across all sectors of society, from every political and social background — to remain vigilant, united, and resolute. It is crucial that we expose the true agenda of the SAF and the terrorist Islamic Movement and their foreign backers, who seek to destroy Sudan’s unity and sovereignty. We must stand together to resist this malicious, imperialist plot and demand justice for every victim of this barbaric campaign.
The RSF renews its unwavering commitment to the Sudanese people. We will not rest until every citizen’s right to life, dignity, and safety is defended, until Sudan’s sovereignty is fully restored, and until the SAF is freed from the grip of the "generals" in Port Sudan. Our struggle for justice, peace, and freedom is far from over. We will continue to fight for a Sudan free from the terror, violence, and tyranny that now plague our nation.
We will stand. We will resist. And we will prevail in ushering in a democratic Sudan.
