The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), strongly condemn the repeated and deliberate shelling of the innocent civilians by the racist Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), operating under the Islamic Movement. The latest attack, carried out today (Tuesday, 4 February 2025), in the City iof Nyala in South Darfur, claimed the lives of more than 38 civilians, the majority of whom were women and children. This blatant violation of international humanitarian law constitutes an assault on unarmed civilians due to their ethnic and regional and background. The city of Nyala has endured a relentless wave of intensive air raids over the past three days, resulting in the deaths of 238 civilians, the injury of hundreds, and the widespread destruction of homes and vital infrastructure. These attacks have forced dozens of families to flee. These attacks are continuing amid regional and international silence and a media blackout. Targeting of civilians on ethnic and racial origins with barrel bombs and forcibly displacing them by destroying their homes constitutes a full-fledged war crime. It is also a blatant violation of the Geneva Conventions, which strictly prohibits indiscriminate attacks and deliberate strikes against non-combatants. We call upon all the international organizations, particularly the United Nations, to closely monitor and condemn these brutal atrocities. We also urge independent media to expose these racist crimes against innocent civilians. Furthermore, we reaffirm our firm commitment to confronting these acts with determination, working to uproot this corrupt junta and rebuild Sudan on new, just foundations that eradicate injustice and marginalization for all Sudanese people.
