The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly condemn and denounce the barbaric aggression carried out by the terrorist Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which targeted Al-Mujlad Referral Hospital in West Kordofan State with drone strikes on Saturday evening. The attack resulted in the tragic death of 34 civilians, including members of the medical staff, and left dozens injured.
This attack constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions, which explicitly prohibit the targeting of health facilities and personnel.
The hospital served a purely humanitarian role, consisting of a dialysis unit that provided essential life-saving treatment to residents across the state on a regular basis.
We hold the Sudanese Armed Forces operating under the Islamic Terrorist Movement and the “Port Sudan Gang” fully responsible for this criminal act, which requires urgent legal accountabilities for all those who planned, authorized, or took part in its execution whether individuals or entities.
We affirm that the protection of civilians and health facilities is both a legal and moral obligation that must never be breached under any circumstances or pretext.
Our forces pledge to pursue justice for the families of the victims, hold the leaders of the brutal regime accountable, and rebuild Sudan on new and just foundations.
