A Rapid Support Forces (RSF) delegation led by Brigadier General Omar Hamdan took part in negotiations with the African Union High-Level Panel for Sudan (HLP-Sudan), a specialized mechanism tasked with ending the war and aiding Sudan's recovery. The mechanism is chaired by Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, who, along with other members, is committed to securing a peaceful resolution to the war and the historical crisis in Sudan.

Dr. Ibn Chambas presented the core objectives of the mechanism, which are based on four primary pillars: initiating a ceasefire, ensuring humanitarian access, starting the political dialogue, and coordinating peace initiatives. He also discussed the context of the current conflict and the historical crisis in Sudan and emphasized the crucial role of the mechanism in bringing an end to hostilities and steering the country toward recovery.

HLP-Sudan member, former Ugandan Vice President Dr. Specioza Wandira-Kazibwe provided a comprehensive overview of Africa's extensive history of conflict resolution, highlighting the continent's longstanding tradition of mediating disputes.

Brigadier General Hamdan, who chairs the RSF delegation, provided information on the negotiations in Jeddah and Bahrain and ongoing efforts to halt the war. Furthermore, RSF Advisor Mohammed Al-Mukhtar called attention to the severe misconduct of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) toward innocent civilians, pointing out instances of violence, murder, and discrimination based on ethnic, tribal, and regional grounds.

Ezz Din al-Safi, a member of the RSF delegation, offered an in-depth analysis of RSF Commander, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo’s strategy to end the war and lay the groundwork for a comprehensive political resolution. This strategy revolves around reaching a consensus on fundamental principles and addressing the root causes of the Sudanese crisis. The RSF delegation officially presented this vision to the HLP-Sudan, signifying a step forward in the journey toward securing peace in and rebuilding Sudan.
